This recipe uses:

Richard’s Famous Original Garlic Salt– OR –
Original Richard’s Famous Garlic Salt for more heat

Richard’s Famous Ancho Fiesta Southwest Seasoning

Want to feed a hungry family quickly and simple? Here ya go…flavorful, fast chili. This recipe has mild heat, but feel free to use Firecracker or more Fiesta for more heat.

Ingredients
> 1 T Extra Virgin Olive Oil
> 1 lb. Ground Beef
> 1 small finely diced medium onion
> 1 grated or finely diced carrot
> 1 tsp. Richard’s Famous Original Garlic Salt (or to taste) – OR –
1 tsp. Original Richard’s Famous Garlic Salt (or to taste) for more heat
> 1 T. Richard’s Famous Ancho Fiesta Southwest Seasoning

> 1 can diced tomatoes (14.5 oz)
>1 can tomato sauce (15 oz)
> 1T. brown sugar
> 1 can red kidney beans (optional)
> shredded Mexican cheddar cheese (optional)

Directions
In large saucepan, saute the onion and carrot in olive oil over medium low heat until soft. Raise heat to medium and add ground beef. Cook and stir until cooked through. Break up the beef into a finer texture. Remove and set aside. (We use a cast iron skillet for cooking). In same skillet, thoroughly cook the diced chorizo. Add a bit of water if necessary to keep from sticking.  Set aside.

Add all other ingredients except cheese. Stir well.
Simmer over low heat, partially covered for 20 -30 minutes. Adjust seasonings, if desired. More Fiesta seasoning will provide a stronger chili flavor and more heat. Ladle into bowls and garnish with shredded cheese, if desired.
